These browned butter rice krispie treats are simple, nostalgic, and just a little extra — which is how we like things around here. Browning the butter adds a warm, toasty depth that makes an old favorite feel special without losing its cozy charm.

This is one of those recipes my boys can jump right into with me: stirring, pouring, sneaking tastes, and making memories along the way. Messy hands, melty marshmallows, and a treat that never lasts longer than a day on the counter.
What you’ll need:
Ingredients you’ll need to make 12-16 bars
2- 10oz bags mini marshmallows
1 Tbs corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of Salt
5-6 cups rice crispies cereal
1/2 salted butter
The step by step:
Brown the butter
In saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and continue to stir until butter has brown granules and smells nutty. Add salt, corn syrup and vanilla.
Add the Marshmallows
Switch to low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until completely melted.
Add cereal
Continuously stir until well combined. You want the mixture to be sticky but not gooey and runny.
Prep the tray
Transfer to a greased, 8-10” pan and firmly press down to crate your bars.
Leave bars on the counter for 30 minutes to firm up before cutting to serve.
